Peninsula — San Mateo County
Resources for every city in San Mateo County, from Daly City in the north to Pescadero on the coast. If your city has no dedicated senior center, the countywide Peninsula Volunteers Inc. (PVI), Peninsula Family Service, and San Mateo County Aging & Adult Services serve all residents.
South Bay — Santa Clara County
All 15 cities in Santa Clara County have achieved World Health Organization Age-Friendly designation — the first county in the nation to do so. Countywide services are coordinated by the County Department of Aging & Adult Services and Sourcewise.
East Bay — Alameda & Contra Costa Counties
Spanning 33 cities from Richmond in the north to Fremont in the south, and from Oakland on the bay to Brentwood in the far east. Countywide services are coordinated by Alameda County Area Agency on Aging and Contra Costa County Area Agency on Aging.
Marin & North Bay
Marin County has the oldest median age in the Bay Area and the 11th oldest in California — with 30% of residents over 60. Services are coordinated countywide by Marin County Aging & Adult Services, with a strong nonprofit network led by Vivalon, Marin Villages, and local senior centers in each town.
